Fighting your OWI ( Operating While Impaired)  / OUIL (Operating Under the Influence of Liquor) / DUI (Driving Under the Influence)

Three levels of offenses

First Offense: The first offese could result in license sanctions, potentialy a six-month suspension, and up to ninety days in jail.

Second Offense:  A second offense is charged when an individual has accrued two drunk-driving charges within a seven-year period.  The second offense may result in a one-year jail sentence and an indefinite loss of your driver's license.

Third Offense:  If you receive three drunk driving charges, you have committed your third offense.   These charges may include out-of-state offenses as well.  The third offense is a felony offense.  It may result in a one-to-five year jial sentence and the permanent loss of your license.

License Restoration

The court will not reinstate a suspended license unless you prove sobriety for a six-month-period, proof of membership in a recovery program such as Alcoholics Anonymous, provide three individuals who can vouch for your sobriety, and demonstrate that you have received some level of alcohol abuse rehabiliation counseling.
